About Us...

The Tavistock Youth Cafe (T.Y.C.) or "The Youth Caf" is a meeting place and safe, dry environment for young people who live in Tavistock, a small market town on the edge of Dartmoor.  It gives young people between the ages of 13 and 19 information, advice and help.  This is achieved through the professionals and trained youth workers at the centre.

You can find us in Pixon Lane opposite the skate park in the big, blue portacabin.  Apart from the services already mentioned, Tavistock Youth Cafe is fully equipped with a wide screen plasma TV, a PS2 (with guitar hero!!), a Wii, a DVD player, a pool table and much more.  We also offer free Internet access to young people in our purpose built computer suite.  Food and drink is also available at the cafe at superb prices (to view our menu please click here).

The staff organise trips out and activities outside of the centre for the young people and provide a full Summer programme for during the holidays.  Check out the "T.Y.C. Diary" page for all upcoming events!

Tavistock Youth Cafe is run first and foremost by young people and has a board which meet once every three months or so discuss any new ideas or changes that need to be made.
